Prior to his career in animation as a traditional Animator and Story Artist, Bobby Rubio pursued a career in the comic industry. Wildstorm founder, Jim Lee, conducted a talent search in the summer of 1994 and Bobby was hired as a penciller intern. Bobby has also worked as a professional penciller for Dark Horse Comics and Topps Comics on "Godzilla" and "Friday the 13th." Here are some examples of his comic book art. All artwork is copyright 2010 Bobby Rubio. All characters are copyright 2010 their individual owners and are included herein for the purpose of scholarly review.

Here are some drawings that I did just for fun that are featured on my Deviant Art page. http://barrypresh.deviantart.com/

For a bonus, here are a couple of collaboration projects that I am working on. First up is "Alpha Monkey" which is a comic series I created with my friend, Howard Shum. The other is a comic series named "Jun Santos: XLR8." The concept was conceived by myself and Julius Aguimatang. Click on the artwork for further information.

I really wanted to create a superhero where his base of operations is my hometown of San Diego. Jun Santos: XLR8 is that character and my first choice to be Jun is actor Dante Basco. Both of us had worked on Avatar the Last Airbender and I think it would be really cool if two former cast members from Airbender created an awesome Pacific Islander Superhero!
