SAN DIEGO NATIVE AND ANIMATION ARTIST/COMIC BOOK CREATOR, BOBBY RUBIO, RETURNS TO COMIC CON TO PROMOTE HIS LINE OF COMIC PROJECTS IN SAN DIEGO

San Diego, Calif. -- San Diego, Calif. -- Native San Diegan, Bobby Rubio, is appearing at the 2010 San Diego Comic Convention, starting July 22. Bobby returns to his hometown of San Diego to showcase his line of comic projects, including Alcatraz High, 4 Gun Conclusion, Robo Brigade and The Secret Origin of Barry Presh. Bobby's projects have appeared in publications such as the Wall Street Journal and Variety. Bobby Rubio will be at his booth #1943. He will be on hand to talk with his fans, draw commissions and promote his latest line of comic projects. Rubio was born and raised in San Diego and has been drawing since he was a child. While attending Morse High School, he won a drawing contest with The San Diego Union Tribune. After high school, he attended the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts. After graduation, he worked for Wildstorm (Image Comics) in La Jolla, and then continued on to pursue a career in animation. After nine years with Walt Disney Feature Animation as a traditional animator and storyboard artist, Bobby then worked as an assistant director/storyboard artist for Nickelodeon Animation Studios on the series Avatar: The Last Airbender for 2 and 1/2 years. Currently, Bobby is a story artist for Pixar Animation Studios and has worked on the animated short Tokyo Mater and the latest feature animated movie Up. The 2010 San Diego Comic Convention will run from July 22 25 (with a preview night on July 21.)
